Day 19 Gros Morne to Port-Au-Choix

Today was a relative short drive. Our first and only stop was at Arches Provincial Park. This is a set of arches eroded by the sea as you can see.

You may be able to tell that it is a little foggy well sometime more than others. The good news it is not raining. Arrived at Port-Au-Choix around 11:00. We are camped right on the shore overlooking the ocean. They tell us whales are sometimes seen here. More pressing issues was lunch. We were directed to the Anchor restaurant. I had the moose burger and Sue has the shrimp salad sandwich and sea food chowder.

After lunch we toured the local sites. They have an outdoor oven where on some days they bake french bread just as they did many years ago. This was a French fishing  area. The french were not allow to establish any permanent structures. That is the reason for the outside ovens. Last was a visit to the Point Riche light house.

At the end of our tour the wind was  coming up and it started to rain. Back at the trailer the wind and waves were really big. The flags are straight out. and then it rained for a short period. Now we just have wind, waves, and fog. Tomorrow we are off to St Anthony, NL.
