Day 10 North Sydney, NS / Fortress of Louisbourg

Today was a relatively short drive from Truor, NS to Arm of Gold Campground (450km). Here is one of the views as we were coming into North Sydney.

We arrived just before lunch and setup. The plan was then to drive South to see the Fortress of Louisbourg. The fortress is a reconstruction of  what was there in the 1800s and was built by the French. The French still had all the documentation and plans which helped be sure it was done right. Rain was threatening so we decided to take the guided tour. Out guide was excellent but was hard for this person to remember what we heard. Do you know the difference between a Fort and a Fortress? A fort only houses military personal,  while a Fortress holds the whole town plus the military. There were folks in period costumes at all locations to answer any questions you may have. To bad the rain shorten our visit.
